What is Datum?
Datum is a studio of small, sharp Forge-native apps for Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence. Each installs on its own from the Atlassian Marketplace and does one job well — and they share one promise: your data never leaves your tenant.
Is there really a free tier?
Yes — every Datum app is free for up to 10 users, with the core feature genuinely usable, not a crippled trial. You pay only when the team outgrows it.
How much does it cost?
Entry rates start at $0.45 per user per month (most apps are $0.75), billed in USD through the Atlassian Marketplace. Atlassian's per-user price steps down automatically at higher user tiers; there are no per-item fees.
Do I have to install the whole suite?
No. Each app is its own Atlassian Marketplace listing you install on its own. Add only the ones you need — they cross-sell, but never require each other.
Where is my data stored?
In your own Atlassian tenant. Datum apps run on Atlassian Forge and store their state per-install in Forge's isolated storage — no shared database, nothing leaves your site.
Does Datum work with Jira Data Center or Server?
Datum apps are Forge-native, so they run on Atlassian Cloud — Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence Cloud. There's no Data Center or Server version.
Do I need admin permissions to use Datum apps?
Installing any Marketplace app needs a site admin, as usual. After that, each app works for your regular users within the Jira or Confluence permissions they already have — no elevated access, no separate accounts.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Each app's data lives in your own tenant in Forge's per-install storage — nothing is ever copied to a Datum server, because there isn't one. Uninstalling triggers Atlassian's Forge data-removal lifecycle; the specifics are in our DPA.
How do I get support?
